A Social Club for Gardening Enthusiasts
The Salem Friendship & Garden Club has taken on the important mission of increasing the number of local pollinator gardens that provide food and shelter to bees, birds, and butterflies!
To accomplish this mission the Salem Friendship and Garden Club will be working with town officials to identify areas where pollinator gardens can be planted.
Worldwide, roughly 1,000 of the 1,200 plant species grown for food, beverages, fibers, spices, and
medicines need to be pollinated by animals in order to produce the goods on which we depend.
Foods and beverages produced with the help of pollinators include apples, blueberries, chocolate,
coffee, melons, peaches, pumpkins, vanilla, and almonds, to name a few.
Plant more pollinator gardens to provide food and shelter for local pollinating animals, such as bees, birds, and butterflies.
Teach friends and neighbors how to plant beautiful pollinator gardens without the use of pesticides.
Educate children on the importance of protecting and caring for the native pollinators in our area.
We are busy putting our gardening tools away, but we will post our pollination garden plans soon — as well as a wish list of all the hardscape items that will be needed to complete this very important project.
The Pollination Project supports Operation Pollination
by awarding $1,000 grant and featuring the
Salem Friendship & Garden Club on their website!
Your generous support will enable us
to plant more gardens, educate the public, and beautify the town of Salem, NH.
